Nice Shoes extends its congratulations to in-house colorist Lez Rudge and Working Pictures Director Bobby Sheehan as they travel to Berlin this week for a screening of their latest effort, Arias With a Twist, at the renowned Berlin International Film Festival. This will be just the first stop in a tour that will include Sundance and Cannes, among others. Rudge handled all the color grading for the indie documentary, an expose of the life of performance artist, cabaret singer, and drag artist Joey Arias. This bizarre, colorful world, populated by this “cosmic, surrealistic, psychedelic glamour clown,” required a color-grading talent who was keyed into the complexities and subtleties of the explosion of colors painting the various parts of Arias’ sprawling, extravagant, quirky life.
