MRY and Derby director Brad Hasse have concepted a campaign for Listerine in which a woman’s bad breath takes on a life of its own, embarrassing her at the worst possible time to beg the question: “Is Your Mouth On Your Side?”.

Seeking a visual effects partner who could achieve this effect practically and efficiently, the Derby team enlisted Nice Shoes Creative Studio, led by creative director Harry Dorrington and VFX supervisor Adrian Winter. The goal was to achieve the effect without the use of CG, shooting the subject delivering her lines normally, and then shooting takes during which she was blasted with a leaf blower to achieve the “bad mouth” effect.
