Following the addition of industry veteran VFX Lead Steve Medin — a well-loved figure in the Minnesota production community and former owner of Volt Studios — Nice Shoes has seen a significant uptick in activity across the Midwest. The move reflects the company’s long-standing appreciation for the region’s creative culture and commitment to building closer, more collaborative relationships.
Medin’s arrival builds on the foundation laid by Oscar Oboza, a longstanding senior colorist at Nice Shoes and a fixture in the Minnesota creative community. Oscar and Steve have collaborated on some of the region’s most notable campaigns, and their continued presence signals Nice Shoes’ strong investment in supporting clients locally with deep experience and trusted relationships.
As part of this momentum, Nice Shoes recently installed a remote color grading setup at Target’s in-house agency, giving the retail giant’s creative teams streamlined access to the studio’s roster of senior artists — all from the comfort of their Minneapolis headquarters.
“This setup gives our partners at Target consistency of quality, speed, and scale,” said Jason Farber, Managing Director / EP Color & Finishing at Nice Shoes. “They can work how they want, where they want, without compromising on creative vision.”
Nice Shoes will also relocate to a new collaborative office in Minnesota in partnership with a like-minded production company — creating a shared space for innovation and cross-pollination of ideas.“Our Midwest Sales Rep Sonia Blum and local partnerships have been instrumental in supporting the needs of Midwestern clients,” added Medin. “This is just the beginning.”
